If a car can be a cathedral, it is the Rolls-Royce Ghost. Hand-assembled at Goodwood, in West Sussex, it does not seek to impress through performance — it seeks to abolish stray sensations. Vibration, engine note, road noise, outside conversation: all of it disappears. You step inside, and the world quiets.
The Starlight Headliner, 1,344 fibre-optic strands hand-stitched into the roof lining, can reproduce the constellation as it stood on the day of your wedding. The rear-hinged coach doors are not a gimmick: they were designed to allow an upright, graceful exit in evening gown or three-piece suit, with no need to stoop. The 6.75-litre V12, twin-turbo, 571 horsepower, is an engine you will never hear — that is written into the Rolls-Royce brief.
The cabin is trimmed in full-grain leather chosen by hand from hundreds of hides (gathered-seam stitching on the seats, marquetry in precious woods drawn from centuries-old trees). Deployable rear tablets, 10-inch screens, Bespoke Audio system with 18 speakers developed in-house. It is the car you reserve when the arrival itself must be part of the event.
